in sleep I tore apart the brick walls with my bare hands,
in sleep I burned your fingerprints off the bloodied walls.
in sleep there is no reason, no caution that reprimands,
and so in sleep, I break the bones of beasts till they crawl.
in sleep, my voice can finally sustain the volume of my pain,
and in my dreams, I yell so loud, that rivers still, and trees shiver as though cold,
but you should know, sleep never brings peace, nor cleansing rain,
we all know- sorrow steals sleep and reigns the dreams, when there’s nobody to hold.
